High St Xray will again forgo the giving of traditional gifts to its referring doctors, instead supporting The OTIS Foundation’s annual Christmas Appeal.
Santa Claus himself was on hand at Bendigo Marketplace when High St Xray’s Duty Chief Radiographer, Scott Flaherty, and Customer Relationship Manager, Cindy Clarkson, presented a $5,000 donation to kick-start the annual appeal, which enables families dealing with breast cancer to spend time away together at no cost
“Christmas is about giving to those less fortunate and High St Xray is very proud to be in a position to give back for the fifth year running by supporting such a worthwhile charity.” Ms Clarkson said.
Interim CEO of The OTIS Foundation, Lisa Farrar, said that its Christmas Appeal encourages people to donate to the breast cancer charity in lieu of giving material gifts to loved ones, “The annual appeal has even more meaning this year as we strive to double the nights we make available nationally by 2021.
“Every donation will help to achieve this target as well as offering a generous gift to a someone dealing with breast cancer to allow them to relax, reconnect and create special memories with family and friends in a beautiful property.” Ms Farrar said.
The donation from High St Xray will cover the cost of providing close to 70 nights of accommodation to families dealing with breast cancer.
All donations to The OTIS Foundation’s Christmas appeal receive a donation certificate which can be personalized as a gift to give to a loved one.
