High St Xray supports OTIS ‘Gift a Night’ Christmas Appeal

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

High St Xray is realising the true meaning of Christmas this year, by supporting those less fortunate through The OTIS Foundation’s ‘Gift a Night’ Christmas appeal.

A generous $5,000 donation by the Bendigo medical imaging clinic has kick-started the annual Christmas appeal, which encourages people to donate to the breast cancer charity in lieu of giving material gifts to loved ones.

High St Xray, Customer Relationship Manager, Cindy Clarkson, said that they were proud to continue their affiliation with The OTIS Foundation’s Christmas appeal for the fourth year running.

There is so much emphasis placed on material gifts at Christmas, so we have decided to do something that better reflects the intent of Christmas, again deciding to forgo traditional gift giving to referring doctors and make a more meaningful contribution.

General Manager of The OTIS Foundation, Rachel Mason, said that the ‘Gift a Night’ Christmas appeal was a unique present idea for loved ones, “Essentially, each donation will receive a certificate which can be personalised to give to friends and family. It’s a gift that has an extremely feel good response because the donation also allows a stranger who is dealing with the challenges of breast cancer to relax, reconnect and create special memories with family and friends at an OTIS Foundation breast cancer retreat.” Mrs Mason said.

Mrs Mason added, “Each $50 donated allows The OTIS Foundation to provide one night at one of our national network of properties to someone who needs it most, by covering the costs associated with providing the stay.”

The donation from High St Xray will cover the cost of providing 100 nights of accommodation to families dealing with breast cancer.

The OTIS Foundation currently has properties in every mainland state of Australia available at no cost to women living with breast cancer and their families.
